Oakter brings affordable cooling to Indian homes with Studio AC 5000 priced at ₹15,500
Oakter, a consumer IoT brand by Riot Labz Pvt Ltd, has announced the launch of its Studio AC 5000, an economic and compact air conditioner designed for modern urban homes. Priced at just ₹15,500 and available on Amazon and Flipkart, the Studio AC 5000 stands out as one of the most affordable air conditioning solutions in India’s online marketplace.
- Lightweight 18.5 kg design with plug-and-play DIY installation
- 0.5-ton capacity with just upto 490W power consumption
Built for small to mid-sized rooms of up to 75 sq. ft., the Studio AC 5000 combines efficient cooling with user-friendly design. With a cooling capacity upto 1550W (0.5 tons) and a maximum power consumption of only 450 watts per hour, it is remarkably more efficient than traditional 1-ton ACs, while offering stronger performance than a large desert cooler. Operating at 230V on a regular 6A socket, it eliminates the need for specialized electrical fittings.
Weighing just 18.5 kg- compared to around 50 kg for a typical 1.5-ton window AC- the Studio AC 5000 is portable and simple to install. Its plug-and-play DIY design requires no technician, and at most, a carpenter may be needed to create a sealed opening for placement. The compact unit measures 35D x 41W x 30H cm and comes in a sleek white finish, making it suitable for modern living spaces.
“Air conditioners in India have traditionally been bulky, expensive, and power-hungry, while coolers, though affordable, compromise on performance. With Studio AC 5000, we wanted to create a category-defining product that is light, efficient, water-smart, and easy to install. It is designed for the new generation of Indian consumers who seek smart, practical, and sustainable solutions for everyday living,” said Shishir Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of Oakter.
The air conditioner also integrates a condensation reuse system that minimizes water wastage by recycling condensate to improve cooling efficiency. This ensures reduced dripping in humid conditions and stable performance in both dry and moist climates. With a noise level of just 57.6 dB, it delivers a comfortable experience without intrusive sound.
With its affordable price point, lightweight build, smart condensation management, and significantly lower energy consumption, the Studio AC 5000 offers a practical alternative to both heavy-duty air conditioners and basic coolers, addressing a long-standing gap in the Indian cooling market.
